May 2025 — Fantasy fans, get ready to ride. “The Great Hunt”, the highly anticipated next chapter in the expanding Wheel of Time universe, is officially in production and expected to hit theaters and streaming platforms in 2026. Adapted from the second novel in Robert Jordan’s beloved series, this epic fantasy promises sweeping battles, deep character arcs, and high-stakes adventure.
Produced by Amazon Studios in partnership with Sony Pictures Television, The Great Hunt builds upon the momentum of the Wheel of Time TV series, which has gained a dedicated following since its Prime Video debut. Now, the world of the Two Rivers, Aes Sedai, and The Dark One is heading to the big screen in a standalone theatrical release that promises to raise the scale—and the stakes.
Returning to direct is Sanaa Hamri, a key creative voice behind several standout episodes of the series.
