May 9, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA — Saddle up, movie fans — the Western genre is getting a gritty new chapter with the upcoming release of “Herd Creed’s”, a bold and visceral tale of justice, loyalty, and survival set in the untamed heartland of 1880s America.
Directed by Jonas Rourke, a rising name in neo-Western cinema, “Herd Creed’s” follows the journey of Creed Mallory, a hardened ex-outlaw turned reluctant leader of a cattle-driving community fighting to survive land barons, betrayal, and blood feuds. When a corrupt railroad tycoon threatens to wipe out his people’s way of life, Creed must confront both the brutal forces around him — and the darker instincts within.
The film stars Josh Brolin as Creed Mallory, delivering a performance already generating Oscar whispers, alongside Zazie Beetz as a fiercely independent rancher with a secret past, and Cole Hauser in a scene-stealing role as the antagonist who will stop at nothing to seize control of the frontier.

Shot entirely on location in Montana and New Mexico, the film boasts sweeping cinematography, a haunting score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, and gritty practical effects that keep the action grounded and raw. According to insiders, “Herd Creed’s” is not just another Western — it’s a character-driven epic with themes of redemption, legacy, and moral ambiguity.
Executive producer Taylor Sheridan, known for his work on Yellowstone and Sicario, calls it “a Western for the modern age — violent, poetic, and unflinchingly real.”
“Herd Creed’s” is set to hit select theaters on September 12, 2025, followed by a wide release the following weekend. The film will also premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, where it’s expected to be a strong awards contender.
