May 9, 2025 – Hollywood, CA — The galaxy’s deadliest showdown is back. After years of speculation and fan demand, 20th Century Studios has officially confirmed “Alien vs Predator 3”, the latest installment in the epic sci-fi franchise that pits two of cinema’s most terrifying extraterrestrial species against each other — and humanity caught in the crossfire.
Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid, Apostle), the third chapter promises to be the most brutal and high-stakes entry yet, blending the survival horror of the Alien series with the ruthless hunter lore of Predator in a gritty, war-torn setting. Titled simply “AVP: Extinction Protocol,” the film is set in a near-future Earth colony where human scientists unwittingly awaken both species — triggering an all-out war beneath the surface of a terraformed world.
The cast includes Jessica Henwick, Boyd Holbrook, and Shameik Moore, with Doug Jones returning in creature performance roles and practical effects being prioritized over CGI for the first time since the original Predator (1987). The production team has also brought back legendary creature designer Alec Gillis, adding authenticity and nostalgia to the project.

Producer John Davis teased that the film will “explore the origins of the Xenomorph-Predator rivalry in a way never seen before,” with strong world-building, intense close-quarters combat, and shocking twists. Early behind-the-scenes footage suggests a darker tone more aligned with Aliens (1986) and Predator 2 (1990) than the PG-13 action of earlier crossovers.
Fan forums exploded after the teaser dropped at CinemaCon 2025, revealing a glimpse of a genetically enhanced hybrid creature — a chilling blend of Predator and Alien traits that may become the franchise’s most formidable threat yet.
“Alien vs Predator 3: Extinction Protocol” will premiere worldwide on December 5, 2025, and is expected to launch a new trilogy if successful.
