May 2025 — Get ready for another spine-tingling journey into the supernatural. “The Conjuring 4”, the latest chapter in the wildly successful horror franchise, has been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema. With Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga returning as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, fans can expect the same mix of real-life terror, demonic possession, and heart-pounding suspense that has made the series a modern horror staple.
Tentatively titled “The Conjuring: Last Rites”, this fourth installment will once again draw from the Warrens’ controversial case files. While specific plot details remain under wraps, sources close to the production say the story will involve a deeply disturbing case tied to a haunted European convent and a malevolent force connected to an ancient religious relic.

Michael Chaves, who directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II, is returning to helm the project. Franchise creator James Wan is back as producer, ensuring the series remains grounded in atmospheric horror and practical effects over CGI-heavy scares.
“This one feels different—darker, more personal,” said Wan in a recent interview. “We’re diving deeper into the Warrens’ emotional journey and confronting themes of loss, faith, and the burden of their calling.”
Fans have long speculated that The Conjuring 4 may serve as a final chapter for Ed and Lorraine’s story arc. Both Wilson and Farmiga have hinted at a powerful and emotional conclusion to their portrayal of the iconic couple, though Warner Bros. has yet to confirm if this will mark the end of the mainline series.
The Conjuring Universe has grossed over $2.1 billion at the global box office, making it the most successful horror franchise in history. Including spinoffs like Annabelle, The Nun, and The Curse of La Llorona, the shared universe has built a loyal fanbase hungry for more supernatural thrills.
“The Conjuring 4” is expected to begin production in late 2025, with a release planned for Fall 2026, just in time for Halloween season.
